How to view different map layers:

  1. When on the map, tap on the layers icon on the right side of your app interface. The button looks like a filter icon with layers and is located underneath the heart icon.

  2. Once you tap this button, you will be met with a new panel that offers several choices.

    1. From here you can change the map type between:

      1. Simple - this offers a grayscale map that aims to focus your attention on the vessels, ports, and lighthouses within the map.

      2. Satellite - this offers an image based view of the map in which you can zoom in to see real details from satellite imagery across the globe

      3. Nautical - this offers a nautical map view detailing water depths. (bathymetry), shoreline, seafloor features, hazards (like rocks, wrecks), aids to navigation (buoys, lighthouses), and tidal/current information.

    2. In addition to changing your map type, you can also determine if you would like to display vessel names on the map

    3. Last, you can filter for different vessel types. Based on your interest, you can select to view only one or a combination of these different vessel types below:

      1. Cargo

      2. Tankers

      3. Passenger

      4. High speed

      5. Tug

      6. Fishing
