We’re excited to share a powerful update for MarineTraffic Risk & Compliance users: real-time notification alerts for vessel sanctions changes—so you can act fast and reduce exposure.
What’s new
Now you can receive alerts for:
Changes in a vessel’s sanction status
Changes in the sanctioned ownership status of a vessel
If you’re already tracking vessels of interest, you’re all set—you’ll be automatically alerted whenever those vessels experience a sanctions or sanctioned-ownership status update.
How do I use these?

Step - by - step
Begin by opening the Notifications tab
Once you open the notifications tab, you will notice a new section called Risk & Compliance. Click there to open the Risk & Compliance risk panel. From the panel you will notice an option to create a new notification, shown below.
Once you click on the + icon , you will be met with a menu that enables you to select any vessel that you may want to track, and tag it for notifications.
Using this panel you can:
Title your notifications
Determine which channels you want to receive your notifications through (web, email)
Select your vessels to track by name, IMO, MMSI
Determine which events you want to track specifically
Once you select your criteria you will be now receive Risk & Compliance notifications for your selected vessels.
Alternatively, you can view a vessel and create a notification from there. In order to do this, first select a vessel and then click the 'hamburger' menu icon highlighted in the image below.
Once you click there the ship panel will change to show more information and "Create Notification" will be shown as a button in blue, like in the image below.
From here you will be taken to your Account page , where you can also set notifications.
