What happened to my previous plan (Starter, Weather, Nautical, Density)? | As part of the ongoing evolution of MarineTraffic a new single plan has been introduced called the Mobile Pro Plan. This new plan combines features of all the previous plans, in addition to improving the app’s performance and overall fluidity and focusing on the core features our users love most.

As a subscriber, do I lose access to features I previously paid for? | No, as a paying user you will be automatically entitled on the Mobile Pro Plan and be able to receive all of the features that you are used to experiencing. Starter plan, weather maps, nautical maps user -> moved to Mobile Pro Plan
However, the Density plan has been decommissioned during 2025 and users have been informed that the plan will no longer exist and this feature no longer works within the app. |
I bought a lifetime plan — what does this transition to the new app mean for me? | If you purchased the app before 2019 with a one-time payment, it means you’ve been with us for a long time—thank you for your loyalty!
As a result, we’ve automatically moved you to our new Loyalty Plan, which includes the features you originally paid for.

Why am I being asked to upgrade if I already paid before? | Our new Mobile Pro plan is an all in one offer that includes more features than any of our previous plans combined.
The new price reflects the level of services within the new plan. |
What happens if I don’t upgrade right now? | You will receive access to the new app until the end of your current subscription period, plus a grace period that will allow you some more time to experience all the new features.
If you choose not to renew your plan with MarineTraffic at the end of your subscription period, you will still be able to access the app for free and use basic vessel tracking. |

All users who had an active subscription on the legacy app will automatically benefit from the new Mobile Pro Plan until their subscription end date, plus an additional 3 weeks. |
Does my old plan auto-renew? | No, you will need to opt into renewing into the new Mobile Pro Plan. |
When do I need to take action by? | Your current subscription will expire, at which point you will need to choose to opt into the new Mobile Pro Plan or continue as a free user. |
