MarineTraffic Enterprise now includes an improved fleet sharing experience, making it easier for teams to collaborate around the same groups of vessels.

With Fleetshare 2.0, fleet owners can share fleets directly with other MarineTraffic users and decide whether each person can view the fleet or make changes to its vessel list.

The updated experience reduces the manual setup previously associated with fleet sharing and brings sharing controls directly into MarineTraffic.

Fleet sharing is now managed directly within MarineTraffic Enterprise. Instead of maintaining separate copies of the same vessel list, teams can work from one shared fleet while the fleet owner remains in control.

When sharing a fleet, the owner can choose between two levels of access:

View - the recipient can see the vessels included in the shared fleet.

Edit - the recipient can see the fleet and add or remove vessels from it.

Edit access does not transfer ownership of the fleet. The original fleet owner remains the owner and can change or revoke sharing permissions at any time.

Fleet owners can share fleets directly with other MarineTraffic users from the fleet sharing interface. When adding someone to a fleet, you can select the appropriate level of access and manage those permissions in the same place.

For users working within a corporate account, colleagues can also be selected more easily when setting up sharing. Once access has been granted, the shared fleet becomes available to the recipient in MarineTraffic.

Fleetshare 2.0 turns a fleet from a vessel list maintained by one individual into a shared resource that teams can use together.

Users with Edit access can add or remove vessels, allowing the team to keep one common fleet up to date as monitoring requirements change. Shared users cannot delete the fleet, and ownership always remains with the original fleet owner.

This is particularly useful for operational, commercial, compliance and other teams that regularly monitor the same changing groups of vessels.

Shared fleets can be reused across existing MarineTraffic workflows, including:

Live Map - monitor the same vessel population spatially.

Explore - filter analysis using a maintained vessel group.

Notifications - build alerts around the same shared fleet.

This means teams can maintain a fleet once and use the same vessel group across different monitoring, filtering and notification workflows without recreating the list for each user.

Fleet owners can manage sharing permissions at any time. For each person with access, you can see whether they have View or Edit permissions and change or remove that access when required.

MarineTraffic also indicates when a fleet is shared, helping users distinguish between private fleets and fleets being used collaboratively.

Fleetshare 2.0 is available as part of MarineTraffic Enterprise.

Fleet owners with an Enterprise plan can share a fleet with other MarineTraffic users and choose whether to give them View or Edit access.
