Satellite Tracking (SAT Flex) is a feature available under our online subscription plans, allowing users to receive up-to-date AIS satellite positions for vessels. This is especially useful when ships are out of range of terrestrial receivers — for example, during cross-ocean voyages.
If you're on the Enterprise Plan, you have unlimited satellite tracking across all vessels, and it's automatically activated — no manual setup needed.
If you're on the Essential Plan, satellite tracking is limited to one vessel, and you'll need to manually enable SAT Flex for the vessel you wish to track.
How to Activate SAT Flex (Essential Plan Users)
Add a Vessel to Your Fleet
Ensure the vessel you want to track is added to one of your fleets.Access the Fleet
Go to your fleet and click “View & Edit.”Enable SAT Flex
Locate the vessel and toggle the SAT Flex button to activate satellite tracking.
Once activated, you’ll begin receiving AIS satellite positions for that specific vessel.
Troubleshooting: “An error occurred” When Enabling SAT Flex?
If you see an error when trying to activate SAT Flex:
Check Your Subscription
Go to your Account settings and confirm your Essential Plan is active.Using the Enterprise Plan?
No action is needed — satellite tracking is automatically enabled for all vessels under this plan.
