Area Statistics on the Mobile App
Area Statistics provide detailed insights for a selected area on the MarineTraffic mobile app. To access this feature, you must be logged in to your MarineTraffic account. The profile icon next to the search bar is used to manage your account and log in.
How to access Area Statistics:
1. Open the MarineTraffic app
2. Tap the profile icon next to the search bar and log in to your account
3. Return to the map and select an area
4. Tap any of the Area Statistics options to view detailed data
What you’ll see:
When you tap an Area Statistics option, a window opens displaying:
- Vessel types
- Vessel status (underway, anchored, moored)
- Vessel speed, including average speed, average speed of vessels underway, and maximum speed
- Most popular destinations
- Most common flags and year of build
- Navigational status
- Median time elapsed within the selected area
Filtering results:
You can refine the results by excluding specific vessel types or vessel statuses. Tap the edit (pencil) icon in the top-right corner of the statistics window and deselect the categories you want to filter out.
