What’s changed
We’ve introduced a new False Flag risk indicator in Risk & Compliance.
This indicator highlights potentially suspicious behaviour related to flag misrepresentation. By leveraging GISIS vessel data alongside existing vessel intelligence, it helps identify when a vessel may be misreporting its state.
Why this matters
Flag misrepresentation can be associated with deceptive shipping practices and may be relevant to compliance screening and investigation workflows.
This update helps users:
identify vessels that may require closer review
strengthen screening related to deceptive shipping behaviour
enrich risk assessments with additional flag-state context
What you might notice
You may now see a False Flag risk signal associated with vessels where potential discrepancies in reported flag state have been detected.
This signal is intended to support risk assessment and prioritisation as part of a broader compliance review.
Do I need to do anything?
No action is required.
The False Flag indicator is available automatically for eligible users within Risk & Compliance workflow
