Overview
In addition to searching for named ports and vessels, the Voyage Planner lets you pin any geographic coordinate directly on the map and use it as an origin, destination, or via point on your route. This is useful for open-water rendezvous, anchorages, offshore terminals, or any location not listed in the search results.
How to use it
1. Open the search input
In the Voyage Planner, tap From waypoint. The search bottom sheet will appear. (Select on map is only available from the Origin waypoint as for now)
2. Tap "Select on map"
At the top of the bottom sheet, tap Select on map. The sheet will close and the map will enter pin-placement mode.
3. Pin your location
Tap anywhere on the map to place a pin at that position. A confirmation prompt will appear showing the coordinates.
4. Confirm the selection
Tap Confirm to use the pinned location. The input field will populate automatically with the latitude and longitude of the point (e.g., 12.3456°N, 78.9012°E).
To choose a different location, tap the pin and drag it, or tap elsewhere on the map to reposition it before confirming. Tap Cancel to exit pin-placement mode without making a selection.
Troubleshooting
The pin isn't snapping where I want it
Zoom in on the map before placing the pin for more precise placement.
I accidentally confirmed the wrong location
Tap the input field to re-open the search sheet, then tap "Select on map" again to replace the coordinate.
The route doesn't look right after adding a pinned point
Check that the pinned coordinate is in a navigable area. Open-ocean coordinates will route normally; points very close to land or in shallow water may affect routing.
