This article explains how you can purchase a MarineTraffic plan, start a free trial, and cancel renewal if you don’t want to be charged.

Starting your purchase/trial

  1. Go to the Plans & Pricing page to see a side-by-side overview of all available plans.

  2. Click on “See the complete comparison list” at the end of the table to expand and view all features available per plan.

  3. Select Try 7-days Free (if available) or Purchase Now option on the plan of your interest.

💡 Note: Prices shown on the MarineTraffic website do not include VAT (applies to EU residents for EU transactions).

Confirming your Order

As soon as you decide which plan is most suitable for you and click Start Free Trial or Purchase Now, you will be redirected to a Confirm Your Order page.

On this page, you can:

  • Review your plan selection, billing details, and payment method.

  • Find answers to frequently asked questions on the right side of the page.

  • Accept the Terms of Agreement (mandatory step to proceed):

    • “I understand that no refunds are possible.”

    • “I understand that this is a single-user license.”

You can also access the full Terms of Agreement from this page for your reference.

Once confirmed, the service you selected will be added to your MarineTraffic account, and you will be able to view all relevant information about your subscription.

💡To activate a free trial, your card or PayPal account must be able to authorize a small temporary amount. This isn’t a real charge, but if the card has no funds or cannot be authorized, the trial cannot be activated.

Subscription Activation After Payment

  • Your subscription becomes available immediately after payment is confirmed.

  • If features appear locked after payment:

    1. Go to the Billing section of your account to confirm that the invoice was paid and approved.

    2. Check that the correct plan was assigned:

      • Navigate to My Account → My Online Services to confirm the plan is properly assigned.

      • If you are an admin of a corporate account and purchased multiple online plans for your company, make sure those plans are shared with other users under the Corporate Account section.

Cancel Renewal or Trial

If you would like to stop your plan from renewing automatically (for example, at the end of your trial period), simply go to:

  • Billing Section under My Subscription panel

  • Click Do not renew next to the specific service you want to stop.

  • To apply this to all services at once, use the final Do not renew option.

This way, you stay in full control and can decide whether to continue, upgrade, or end your plan without unexpected charges.
